According to the Oxford Dictionary, Unnatural is something or someone 1. not in accordance or conformity with the physical nature of persons or animals 2.Not in accordance or agreement with the usual course of nature
Throughout Act1, Brabantio feels strongly about his daughter’s relationship with Othello to be “unnatural.” The fact that Othello is black and not white made the relationship unimaginable. Skin color is the only thing that has Brabantio against this relationship. Because Othello is not of lighter color he is not worthy of being with Desdemona. According to Brabantio, all the good, achievements, and accomplishment in which Othello has done he is still not worthy to be with his daughter Desdemona. Unfortunately the father only sees color and over looks everything else.
These days there is still racism and people still look at interracial marriages as something wrong. I believe that if I was to bring home a black man as my boyfriend, my parents would have a problem at first. I remember hearing from my mom while growing up, to consider the way society would look at you. You would not be able to fit anywhere, not with the blacks and not with the whites, think about your children! Yeah. I think they would have a problem at first. But if they get to know the guy and see how we love each other they might just accept it. I do not believe that they would be vicious to him or rude to him. But they would most probably feel awkward at first but then when they get to know him, they will overlook his skin color and accept him.
I think that interracial marriages are still very hard to be accepted by societies in many places in the world. I believe that the reason why it is condemned or illegal is due to the fact people are scared of different. People are scared of being different or being related to different. For example, they can be of different skin color, but with the same belief systems and people will still be against it. It is just like Desdemona and Othello, both Christian, similar values if not the same, good social standings, and yet her father is against the marriage. Unfortunately there are people who are very narrow minded and choose not to accept a change or the different allows racism to continue. Luckily people are constantly fighting against prejudices and racism through education and interaction

I agree today people are still ab it hesitant but i really dont think its as severe as it had been, at least in the united states. If i brought home someone of another ethnicity i do think it would be a shock, but no true drama. As per kids its like the fish and the bird where would they make their home: i imagine a fishtank with a treestuck in it would suffice. You are never pigeon holed unless you allow it.
i believe that people are people, i hate the problem of race in families people should be able to mary who they want no matter what the race is, i think people who see a problem in this are highly small minded
i strongly disagree with Barbantio's actions towards Othello...not wanting to accept othello because of his skin color isnt the right thing. I dont agree that their relatonship is unnatural only because she is white and he is black
